Here at The Cake Decoration Shop we have been selling Colour Mill for a few years now, we have found it to be great for colouring buttercream, some people find it expensive, and yes there are cheaper alternatives for colouring buttercream, but nothing works like Colour mill when colouring chocolate. We do agree its more expensive than other brands for colouring buttercream, but the colour shades are very different to gel colours and thats why some customers choice Colour mill when colouring buttercream. We have created a few different sets that help choosing a little easier, we have also created sets of 6, 8, 12 & 14, which allow you to choose the required colours, when picking one of these sets, you just need to email us your colour selection or add a message at check out.

Colour Mill is manufactured in Australia and has taken the cake world by storm, if you ever have any issues with the product never stay quiet and let us know your thoughts, as we have close links to the main distributor of this brand, and they always love feedback, Good & Bad.

Whitener that actually works!

Just like the colourings, the Colour Mill White will dye both the sugar AND the butter/oils in your baking. When you have a colour with the ability to dye and disperse through every ingredient, you’re guaranteed the best result.

Will it go grainy like powder titanium?
Our colours go through a specialised milling process which grinds the powder into an ultra smooth liquid, leaving you with a grain free paste perfect for colouring.

Does it leave a taste?
Due to the way our colours disperse through your icing & chocolate, you require far less colouring which minimises any after taste from the dye. Gel colourings are unable to dye the oils which leads to over use of whiteners which can leave a bad taste or texture.

What Is Colour Mill Booster?

Colour Mill Booster is used to intensify your colour through emulsification. If you’re struggling to achieve vibrant colours in your creations, add Colour Mill Booster to help emulsify and get the most from your gel colours.

When colouring the chocolate you want to mix three parts of Colour Mill Booster to one part of gel colour. Make sure you’ll mix the booster with the gel colours before adding them to the chocolate, or you might risk with seizing your chocolate again.

Colour Mill Booster is designed to improve gel colours, so if you are using Colour Mill colours to dye, you do not need to use the Booster.
